It's not even mid-season yet...

Ok, so the cold in Korea is...well, it's not lovely (how can -13 C ever be considered anything resembling pleasant?), and the wind stinging your face is quite unbearable when you're out for more than 5 minutes. Sometimes I feel like I'm walking around with an ice-pack on my face. But it's a bit more bearable than I thought it would be, especially because I wasn't sure at first that my California-cold jackets were up to snuff in this climate (thankfully, I was wrong). The trick is to keep moving, and pretty soon, even the ten-foot long muffler wrapped five or six times around your neck begins to feel a little suffocating.
Sometimes, though, it feels like I've spent half my life with a runny nose. Long-term living in a climate where tissues are used up every block is really not for me.

On the issue of regular blogging...
I can't believe how long it's taken me to get a laptop computer, and before you start cheering for me, it still hasn't happened. D ordered a computer for me back during Thanksgiving, because there were great deals back home, but there's been a two-month backlog of orders! C'est ridiculous, n'cest pas??!? In disgust, I finally cancelled the order, and I am capital D Determined to have one in my hot little hands by the end of this week, or at least ordered by the beginning of it here in K. My cup of words is full to the brim and eager to be poured out. There is so much to tell, so many scenes to be described and pictures to be elaborated upon!

  1. My dear, you are in the samsung, hyundai, LG-capital of the world. Please do us eager blog readers a ginormous favor and purchase a laptop asap. In the meantime, please prevent your fingers from being frost-bitten. Just use, say, a cashmere covered hand warmer? Just a thought...XOXO
