The girls at the beach

Amber and I decided to take advantage of one of the last few sunny weekends in SK by visiting Busan, which is a larger metropolis in SE Korea. It gets the best waves in SK (and that's saying something, because the South Koreans are clearly not famous surfers for good reason), and it was a good way for these two California girls to get a little taste of home. Busan is lovely. All dramatic dark mountains in the background, foreigners everywhere. The weather was a bit dodgy, clear and cloudy by turns. I was damp the whole weekend, but my feet were wet--oh, and my shoes shrank. CanNOT wait to get new Korea weather approved shoes. We tried to go to a bar Saturday night and pick up on foreigner guys, but they and the Korean girls are fascinated by each other, so we settled for some jalapenos and chicken nachos (yum!).

Even the waves in SK are orderly. Neat and relatively quiet, and the beaches are, of course, clean. Would the Koreans have it any other way? 

First thing we did was go straight to the beach. I may have fallen in the water, and I may have been trying a new dance to dry out.

Come on America! Get with the program. How great an idea are foot rinses at the beaches?

That's right. That's our hotel room--and our view. Can't say much for the cleanliness of the place, but have you seen our view?!
